Kalamkari Artist

I met this Kalamkari artist in his home in a small village near Pondicherry a few years ago. He had done some beautiful paintings on textile and he sold his wares from his house. He also supplied to some of the bigger shops in the city. He explained to me how he extracted the plant dye and the images of Gods and Goddesses that inspired his work. The level of intricacy and detail in this beautiful art form is amazing. I bought this piece for my parents and it looks magnificient in their home. Meaningful works of art from my travels.
